The AGLCA flag was hanging by one clip, so I put my life jacket on and fixed it. Don't want to have to buy another one!
We are heading to Vero Beach. We are going to be on a dock, not a mooring ball (the price for being on the dock was the same as the price of being on the mooring ball) so we will have power.
I'm not sure what this is, but it is big.
The waves are rolling, and we are being tossed around. I drove for a while and then Kip took over. We arrived at the marina, and we have a slip right next to the gas dock. Once settled, we ate lunch and Kip washed the boat, squeegeed the windows, and put the dinghy in the water. The dockmaster told us that there will be a Marti Gras party tonight (everyone brings something).
We showered and walked up to the party. We don't have anything to bring for that many people, so we just grabbed a bag of chips. That's all we had. We talked to a few people, I had jambalaya (which was spicy and very good), and Kip had miscellaneous items that wouldn't bother his stomach. We only stayed for a half hour or so, then came back to the boat.
I called my dad when we got back. Then we played one round of Rummikub and Kip had left-over pizza for supper (I wasn't hungry). He also got ice cream bars from the marina for after supper!
There is a small vessel advisory on the radio, so we are glad we are in a marina slip. It is also very nice to have power and not have to worry about anchors coming loose, etc. Plus, the beach is only .8 miles from here and the bus is free!
While I am updating the blog, Kip went to take pictures. He forgot his pizza was on the grill (and it is burnt). Hmmmm..... maybe a sandwich for him tonight! I asked him how he was going to make coffee in the morning because generators can't be used from 7pm to 9:00 a.m. He looked at me funny and said "We are plugged in. No generator needed." I guess we are both goofy!
Here are pictures of the marina.
This is the Marti Gras party group.
