Saturday
We were both awakened by a boat at 3:00 a.m. playing loud techno music. We slept later than usual and decided to go to the beach (surprise)!
We were at the beach for only a short time when a woman set up a chair and umbrella right next to us. She (Alyssa) instantly began talking to me. She is originally from Trinidad (I believe), and she is 56 years old. We talked for the next couple of hours about her divorce, impending trial date, her life, God, her kids (and mine), theories about how to live a complete and full life no matter what the circumstances are, finding love, and more. She finally said "This is the first time I've ventured to the beach and of all of the places to set up, I sit next to you. It was divine intervention, and you are my Guardian Angel." We ended up exchanging phone numbers and took some pictures together.
We left around 4:00 p.m., made a few calls and had supper. We were setting up to play cards and he tried to put the stereo on, but it didn't work. It seems it has quit working, but we have a new one at home we can replace it with. Kip had the air conditioning on during the night, and in the middle of the night the air conditioning stopped and gave an error message. Kip worked on it for a few minutes and determined that the filters were probably clogged. He pulled them out and went back to bed.
We are happy that there isn't anything critical wrong with the boat - minor things we can handle.
