March 14-15, 2024 - Loggerhead Marina, Hollywood, FL

Thursday

Today we rode our bikes to the beach and met Doug and Gwen at Nick's Restaurant.  Doug spent time here in Hollywood and hasn't been in the area for several years.  They drove 1.5 hours to get here!  He was surprised at how busy it has become.  We had burgers and fries for lunch and walked them back to their car in a parking ramp.  We were going to take a picture by the big chair, but we got sidetracked.

Kip and I swam and stayed at the beach until about 3 and then rode bikes back to the boat.  While we were reading, we noticed a big spider or something walking on one of the boat lines.  It turned out to be a little crab.

Friday

We have been hitting the beach pretty hard, so today we decided to take it easy.  We cleaned the boat (windows and swept the floors), which doesn't take long.  We turned on the water and the pump made a big banging noise.  Kip investigated and determined he needed to replace the pump.  He ordered the pump, which will be here on Monday.  Kip also took the dinghy to the boat landing and cleaned the bottom.

Kip rode his bike to the grocery store (I was craving Easter egg malted milk balls) and he picked up a few grocers (steak for dinner).

So much for taking it easy, huh?

  1. Always something to do, even in paradise! Glad you’re taking advantage of the beach - windy and cold in MN this weekend. Looking forward to seeing you this week.
