March 17, 2024 - Loggerhead Marina, Hollywood, Florida

Sunday

Happy St. Patrick's Day.  Someone living in a house facing the marina decided to have a big, all-day party with a DJ speaking in a microphone and playing loud techno music.  People on the dock were not happy!

Kip cleaned the air conditioning filters and all is well.  We decided to go on a dinghy ride and explore for a while.  We made an entire circle from the marina to the ICW (Inter Coastal Waterway).

It was really calm until we got into the ICW.  With brick walls on both sides of the waterway, big waves from passing boats bounce off of the side, pass over the waterway, and hit the other side.  This repeats over and over again.  We were in our dinghy going through 3-foot waves coming from all directions.  I was happy to get back to the marina, even with the loud party going on.

We stayed on the boat most of the day.  It was really hot, but the air conditioning worked great!  We read for a while, went in for a while... About 5:00 it was a bit cooler, and we decided to go and pick up a few groceries.

Ashley, Mike, Claire, and Natalie left this morning to come to Florida.  They took Claire to the beach last year, and she wanted to go again.  They are excited to meet us tomorrow and hit the beach to play and swim.  We are really excited.

After we had dinner, we sat outside and read for a while.  Tomorrow will be very hot... a nice day to be on the beach.
