March 11-13, 2024 - Loggerhead Marina, Hollywood, FL

 Monday

Well, Monday, March 11th, we were extremely tired from getting home so late.  We pretty much sat around and read most of the day (oh and slept).

Tuesday

We had breakfast and around 10:00 we rode our bikes to the beach.  As we were setting up our chairs and umbrellas, a woman behind us asked us (in French and using hand signals) if we would move over to the left 5 feet so she could see the ocean.  So, we moved.

A short time later, a large group of very loud elderly people moved in right next to us.  We couldn't relax with so many people talking at the same time, so Kip went and scoped out a new spot that was quiet, and we moved to a new spot.

As we were setting up, loud techno music began to play.  We looked at each other, picked up our stuff, and moved.

As we were setting up in a new location, loud Spanish music began to play.  We looked at each other, picked up our stuff, and moved again.

The fifth time was a charm, and we were comfortable with our surroundings.  Geez!

We determined that spending the day at the beach was tiring, even though we didn't do much.  The sun must be draining us.  We didn't eat all day, and I was nauseated for the rest of the night.

Wednesday

We are heading to the beach again today.  We left early and got a spot right in the front.  We set up, and I took a bag and walked the beach collecting garbage.  Kip swam a few times and frequently walked around checking things out.

We both read our books, and Kip walked to Subway and got us a sandwich for lunch.  Later in the afternoon, he also got us a Snickers candy bar, so we got the energy to ride our bikes back to the boat.

I wanted to get back at a decent time so I could do a couple of loads of laundry.  When we returned, I packed up the laundry bag and my backpack and went up to the marina.  I put two loads in the washing machines and took a shower.

When the wash time was up, one of the washers did not spin the water out of the clothes.  I put the wash into the dryers and sat in the lounge until the time was up.  None of the clothes were dry, so I added more money.  I checked them again after a half hour, and one load was dry, but the other one was still soaking wet.  I took the items out of the dryer, squeezed the water out of them in the sink.  I then split the load into two and put more money in the dryers.

I went back to the boat, and we had dinner.  After dinner I walked up to get the clothes, and the door was locked.  The key was on top of the ice machine, but it was gone.  I guess we will have to get our clothes tomorrow.

We are both tired and will probably go to bed early.
