March 3 - Sunset Bay in Stuart, Florida

It is really windy today and the boat is swinging around like crazy.  Kip made breakfast and then took the dinghy to shore and cleaned the bottom of it.  We grabbed our books and sat up at the marina for a while, then went back for lunch and packed our fishing gear.

We went to the fishing pier in Stuart and just about got blown off of it.  There were a few other people fishing as well.  We put our shrimp bait on the hooks and dropped them into the water under the bridge.  We had a few tangled lines and a broken line, but it was fun. Kip had a crab on his hook but it came off right before he pulled it in, and he also caught a puffer fish.  The puffer fish is called the "chicken of the sea", but it is protected and cannot be kept.  They are not very attractive...

I, on the other hand, caught a couple of clumps of barnacles.  Also not very attractive!

On the way back from fishing, Kip got gas for the dinghy.  The dingy ride back to the boat was very wet.  We had chow mien for dinner (which is not my favorite), and we relaxed for the evening (not wanting to go back to shore for another shower).

It is supposed to be less windy tomorrow, so we are planning on packing our chairs and umbrella and riding our bikes back to Stuart Beach and be "beach bunnies" for the day.
