Today our daughter, Ashley, her husband (Mike) and daughter (Claire) are driving from Dearfield Beach to spend the day with us. Kip met them in the park and brought them via dinghy to our boat on the mooring ball.
Claire checking out Grandma's shells (listening for the ocean sounds).
Since my First Mate status is limited now, Mike stepped in and took care of things. We stopped at the marina gas dock to get fresh water and pump out, and then Mike helped Kip get the mooring ball hooked back up when we returned and loaded the kayak back onto the rack on the top of the boat.
We boated to Manatee Pass and met Kip's mom and her beau for lunch.
Claire wanted to help Grandpa drive, talk on the radio, and push the horn button.
We walked into town and got ice cream and other treats at Kilwins to end our day. We walked them back to their car so they could get back to Deerfield Beach, and we went back to the boat.
I called my dad to chat with him, then we sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the quiet evening.
