Sanroc Cay Marina, Orange Beach, Alabama
It is cold today - in the mid-50s. We had breakfast and then Kip took the old Wallas stove out. I read a book and drank coffee... I wasn't much help!
Kip was checking at the office for the new Wallas to be delivered. While he was waiting, he replaced a belt on the Yanmar engine. While he was doing that, I rode my bike to Publix and picked up more paper towels (per Kip's request)!! I also got a few other things, like salad, apples, etc. The lady at the cash register laughed when I was putting everything into my backpack.
I got back and Kip had received an email that the UPS delivery is delayed, and the Wallas stove was going to be delivered tomorrow. So, we cleaned the boat (lots of sand from the beach) and went for a dinghy ride.
This is the marina we are staying in.
Kip found a tan Ranger tug with the fly bridge. Nice boat named "Get Busy Livin."
We took a couple of boat pictures (which are very funny because we are so small compared to every other boat here).
Can you find our boat!
Sunset and dinghy.
The dock poles have barnacles on them (under the water level), and they are very sharp. We didn't want the dinghy to get popped, so we had to strategically tie it up so it wouldn't touch anything. We were laughing because a young guy was putting up a railing on the dock, and he would add four boards, take a break, add four more, take a break. He was still working on it when we got back from our dingy ride. I think my dad could have had that up in a few hours, and he's 86! They move at a different pace here in Alabama!
It is going to be cold again tomorrow. We hope the Wallas stove and the coffee pot arrive so we can leave Saturday morning to our next destination. If not, we will have to come up with something else to do (like play dominoes or ride our bikes over the bridge to see what's up over there). Either way, we will not waste the day!
