Sanroc Cay Marina, Orange Beach, Alabama

Well, today was kind of hectic for us (and expensive).

We had the Wallas stove / heater on last night because it was cold, and Kip woke up to find that the Wallas shut down and it was cold in the boat.  Kip worked with the Wallas people and ordered a new stove / heater so we can be confident that it will work when we need it (it works on 12 Volt DC and can use when anchored).  It is going to be delivered on Wednesday.  Yikes.

We decided to stay until Saturday morning to make sure we get things working ok.  We paid the marina for the week (here it is $3.00 a foot)!  Yikes again!

Then, the coffee pot has been acting up, so we had to order a new one to be delivered on Thursday.

We are in another slip that needs a 50-30 plug converter (and the marina doesn't have one we can borrow), so we hopped on our bikes and rode into town.  We stopped at one store and Kip bought tools to install the new Wallas stove.  Then we went to a marina to purchase the plug converter.

We stopped at Starbucks for a coffee and took it to Orange Beach (across the street).  We went back to the boat, and the plug converter was not the right one.  Kip had to pedal back to the store and return it and then bike even further to the West Marine to get the correct one.  I walked to the beach and sat there for about 1 hour reading and trying to stay warm.

We met back up at the marina, and the new amp converter works great.  It is only going to be 75 degrees tomorrow, and then it will be in the 50s.  Now we can run the Reverse Cycle Heat/air (110 AC needs to be plugged in at dock or run generator) without worrying about the generator running or the Wallas stopping.  Once Kip installs the new Wallas, we will be set and ready to move to the next destination.

Kip biked 12 miles today (I only biked 6), and I walked 3,000 steps to the beach and back.  If we continue biking, I will have to order Kip a pair of those padded bike shorts!  😂
