 Alton, Illinois

We are still at the Alton Marina.  It is about 68 degrees but windy.  We walked into town and then sat outside for a while.  I took a long nap.  Kip attended a "Looper" meeting and they said that there was a tow down river that was stuck and was blocking the channel.

The boats staying at Hoppie's Marina, which is our next stop, cannot continue until the tow is unstuck.  That means we might have to stay in Alton another night.  Because we can't continue, that means that boats behind us can' continue.  Things are going to get backed up - especially tows with barges!  Once we can move, it's going to be very busy, especially getting through the locks because the tows / barges have priority.

Hoppie's marina is the last place to stop before going 205 miles with no marinas or docks.  Boats anchor out when they go this stretch because it is hard to drive in the dark.  After that stretch, there are marinas again.

There is another meeting tomorrow at 8:15 for an update.  Otherwise, all is well.
