Alton Marina
Well, we are still at Alton Marina. It seems a tow and barges bottomed out and we cannot continue to the next marina. We are not alone - there are several Boats (15+) waiting here now. There are several "Looper" meetings each day with updates, but, so far, the only boats allowed to move are the tows and barges.
It nice today a bit chilly. We had to find ways to keep busy, so we walked into town and did some shopping.
We walked up and down cobblestone streets looking at the beautiful homes and parks with overviews.
This is the old overview that collapsed! Yikes.
We went to a farmer's market and purchased apples, a tomato, books, crocheted coasters, and the best dessert item we have ever had. It is called Lady J's Gooey Butter Cake (they have a website too). It was so good I walked back to the market and bought another one.
We read on the dock, napped, went to the casino, and played King's in the Corner and dominoes.
We are supposed to get another update tomorrow morning, so we're hoping for the best!
