March 2, 2025 - Sailfish Marina, Stuart, Florida to Manatee Pocket Mooring Balls, Port Salerno, Florida

After coffee, we walked the boardwalk to the Farmer's Market.  We ended up buying two small "bears" of honey.  Then we packed up and took off for our next destination.

We stopped at the fuel dock for diesel, fill up our water tank, and pump out.   The fuel dock only has large nozzle ends on the fuel pumps, and our boat has a small opening.  Kip had to pump 40 gallons of diesel by putting a funnel into our fuel tank and slowly pumping fuel into the funnel from the big-ended hose.  It took a while.

It is a short trip to Manatee Pocket, but it is extremely busy (which means extremely wavey from boats blasting by us).  We were rocked pretty good!  The mooring field is deep into the Manatee Pocket.  We found the ball we were assigned and went through our normal procedure for hooking the lines to it.  The tail of the mooring ball was thicker in diameter than other tails, so hooking the tail to prepare it for Kip to put the lines through was a challenge.

The thick mooring ball tail (highlighted in blue) is what I grab with the boat hook; the yellow highlighted area is where Kip threads the lines through.

After we got hooked up, we took the dinghy to shore to check things out.  Then we went back to the boat and watched the boats go by (a person said "Hey, look at that tiny tug").

We had lunch, napped, and read.  The evenings have been windy and cold, so we stay outside as long as we can.  We are grilling pork chops for dinner (with salad and fruit).
