Thursday
I awoke this morning to a loud thump and Kip jumping out of bed in his skivvies to see who was climbing onto our boat. It turned out it was a wave.
We left the dock around 7:30 heading toward Boca Raton. We had to call for a lift on the George Bush Boulevard Bridge because it only allowed for 9' of clearance and we are a tad over 13'. Kip spotted a large lizard resting on the bridge!
We stopped at the Palm Beach Marina for a pump out (they charge $20 for pump outs), gas for the dinghy, and water. As we continued, a few miles later, they offered pump outs for free. Oh well!
We are anchored at Lake Boca Raton with a number of other boats (many of them very big)!
We spent the afternoon reading and had hotdogs, vegetables, fruit, and cookies for supper. I think some of the people around here forgot the contents of the memo that states: Not everyone wants to listen to your music!
The winds died down, so we should have a peaceful evening.
