Fort Mcree Cove (Anchored), Florida to Seville Harbour Marina, Florida

It seems to be a trend that Kip gets up about 5:30 and I get up around 7:30 a.m.  It is another cold day - 44 degrees.  It will get up to 54 degrees as the day goes on.

Kip made breakfast, we put on all of our winter clothes, and we took the dinghy to shore.  We wandered around finding the old Fort Mcree remains.

Here is a picture of the original Fort and the outside walls we walked on today.

We got back to the dinghy and decided to walk the beach and look for seashells.  There weren't any in the Fort Mcree Cove area, but we walked around to the Gulf of Mexico side and found some.  On the way, Kip decided to climb (we think) an old watch tower.

As we were walking the beach, we saw this "No Wake" sign that obviously used to be in water but is now pretty far up the beach (probably due to sand shoal filled the water in).  The channel keeps moving due to deterioration and shoals.

Many years ago, at Kinni Beach, Kip found a pair of sandals that had 92 on them.  He kept them and has worn them a lot since.  On our walk, Kip noticed a pair of sandals in the weeds.  They were Olukais and almost the right size!  He had to keep them.

We got to the Gulf of Mexico, and there were shells!  Kip (the "Shell Whisperer") found an olive shell and (I think) a Scotch Bonnet right on shore.  I, however, pants and shoes wet going into the ocean, found some ordinary shells, but they were in good shape.  Our granddaughter, Vada, LOVES shells, so I will probably give many of them to her.

I found this one, but I'm not sure exactly what it is called.

Kip found these beauties!

We had a heck of a time getting the dinghy off of the shore because of the wind.  We got back to the boat and Kip was checking out his new sandals, and then he noticed that they were both left footers!  😂

We left for Seville Harbour Marina at about 12:00.  It was a bit rough out and the farther we went, the rougher it got.  We estimate the waves were between 2 to 5 feet.  The boat handled the waves fine, and Kip is a great captain, so I felt completely safe.

When we were closer to the marina, I called them to find out where we were going to dock.  While I was on the phone, Kip was telling me to "LOOK, LOOK".   Dolphins were jumping right next to the boat.  I quickly hung up the phone and tried to help him either drive or take pictures.  We got a dolphin escort to the marina!

The Seville Harbour Marina is really new (updated due to prior hurricane damage) and we don't have to lasso poles and put lines on them (we can just step out of the boat).  Much better!  We walked into town to check it out and stopped at a candy store for some chocolate.  There was also a 5k being set up that was to start at 4:30 p.m.  I thought about signing up for the run, but it was cold, and I didn't have the right attire, so I passed.

We showered and broke our "no eating-out" rule and went to The Fish House for dinner.  It was one of the best dinners we've had since we left Lake City (besides Patti's at Great River, KY).  There are codes to the marina gates and another code for the bathrooms.  Every time we try to use a code, we have to pull out our cellphones to look at our message from the marina.  I asked Kip, "Why is it we can't remember any of these codes."  He replied, "We're old."  So funny, and such a Carlo remark!

A Looper posted a video of when they hid a rock.  If you watch the video, you will see us at about the 45 second mark in the lock on the left side behind the blue-hulled boat.
