Green Turtle Marina, Grand Rivers, Kentucky to Duncan Bay, Land Between the Lakes
We left the marina at 7:00 and we are heading to Paris Landing Marina. As the saying goes, plans sometimes change. The sunrise was beautiful!
It was windy and the waves were 3+ feet. We were slamming through them, and it wasn't fun. We decided to tuck into Pisgah Bay.
We took the dinghy to shore and went on a hike in the woods. So far, we have outrun the trees turning colors, but they finally caught up to us and they are glorious. We ended up on the shore and walked the shoreline.
We aren't sure what these are, but there were several of them in the mud along the shore. If you know what they are please leave a comment for us.
After our walking adventure, we went back to the boat and relaxed. I read a book and took a nap, and Kip found a spot on the bow that looked pretty comfortable.
5:00 came, and I told Kip to take my phone and I would drive. He was surprised when he saw many family members in a Microsoft Teams meeting. They told stories, chatted, and wished Kip a happy birthday! He was very happy to see everyone and thought it was very neat.
We had steak and salad for dinner while the sun was setting. It was beautiful and lasted a very long time. There were also small fish or minnows jumping out of the water, which was very humorous.
We traveled 9 miles today. Depending on the wind, we might get to Paris Landing Marina tomorrow. If not, that's ok too! We are thankful each other, for the chance to go on our adventures, and for our loved ones!
The red arrow is where we are on the Kentucky River, Lands Between the Lakes.
This red arrow shows where the boat is anchored.
You got a beautiful sunset for your birthday! Glad it was a good day. - Ashley
