February 9 and 10 - Marco Island Smokehouse Bay

Yesterday we took the kayak down and went for a paddle.  Kip went into town to pick up a few things and he walked around while I stayed on the boat.  While eating dinner, one of the restaurants had a band playing and people were walking on the paths under the bridge enjoying themselves.  We played dominoes after our less than good supper and tucked in around 9:00 p.m.  A fire alarm was blaring in one of the condos as we went to bed and kept ringing for about 15 minutes.  Not very relaxing, but I hope the people are ok.

Today, we are still anchored out in the Bay.  While I was still asleep Kip took the kayak around to explore.

We read, ate breakfast, relaxed, and watched a spiral staircase being installed in the house we are anchored next to (they used a huge crane).

Kip went on another kayak trip and when he got back, we went back Winn-Dixie to pick up a few items.

We loaded the kayak back onto the boat from the water (which was easier than we thought it would be).  Our SIM card wasn't working, so Kip called AT&T and they resolved the issue (plus they told us we could get a cheaper plan).  Sounds good to us!

We enjoy watching the tour boats coming back from their adventures.

The next few days will be windy with 4-5 foot waves possible in gulf, so we will be staying in this area (in a marina) until the wind settles down.
