Kip was up about 5:30 a.m. and I had the luxury of sleeping until 7:30 a.m. How nice! When we got out of the boat, the water was two feet higher than when we went to bed! We are not used to that.
We drove over to the gas dock and got a pump out and 33 gallons of diesel. Everyone so far has been VERY patient when we tell them we have to use a funnel to put in the diesel, AND our pump out location is in the back of the boat under the dinghy!
We had grilled chicken for supper and hopefully I can talk Kip into playing dominoes for a while. We are planning on leaving here on Friday, and we haven't heard anything about the tropical storm, but we don't anticipate it affecting us. We will see.
After that, they said we could change slips and move closer to shore to have a better view. We struggled getting the lines back over the poles (it is difficult when we aren't sure what we are doing - and Kip is giving me rapid-fire commands). We finally got it into the slip and Kip worked on the solar panel (which needs a new control module) and ordered spare belts and an impeller to be delivered to the marina.
Kip got the bikes down and we went a little over a mile to the Publix grocery store. We purchased $170.00 worth of items and it all had to fit into two backpacks. Hmmm. Besides our heavy backpacks, we each had a bag on each bike handle and slowly wobbled our way back to the boat.
We sat outside on our chairs and had lunch and relaxed. Eventually I decided to take a late nap (it was 3:00 p.m.) and Kip walked around the marina.
Shrimp Boats in the marina
Kip said he wants to buy this boat and be a shrimp boat captain - it's a turn-key shrimp boat. 😆
This marina is a public place and people stop by on the point to watch the sunset. After my nap I walked out to the sandy point and watched an elderly man get out of his car and slowly (he was kind of bent over) made is way to the rock pier with his phone. He was taking pictures of the sailboats, which appeared to be in a class or doing a race. He then climbed up on the rock pier and sat down until the sun went down. It was so sweet!
If you look closely at these pictures, you can see the man on the pier.

Nicole is now 1/2 way across Fl. Will exit into Gulf and turn north to Tallahassee and then curve inland toward Carolinas. Monitor VHF Weather for up-to-date info. Sail safe. D
